PAAIA Announces 2015 Public Policy Advisors
January 14, 2015, Washington, D.C. – PAAIA is pleased to announce that Collin Anderson, Computer Scientist and Independent Researcher on Internet Freedom, Andy Halataei, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for the Information Technology Industry Council and former Legislative Director for U.S. Congressman Randy Forbes, and Maryam Mujica, Public Policy Manager at Twitter and former communications officer for the U.S. State Department, have joined PAAIA’s cadre of Public Policy Advisors.
To date, PAAIA has been fortunate to have had the counsel of five public policy experts, who have been providing feedback on PAAIA’s Public Policy Center activities. These advisors include:

Erich Ferrari – Principal, Ferrari & Associates, PC
Alireza Nader – Senior International Policy Analyst at RAND Corporation
Afshin Molavi – Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation
Alex Vatanka – Senior Fellow at the Middle East Institute and the Jamestown Foundation
The Public Policy Center is the policy arm of PAAIA, created to gather, maintain, and provide reliable and unbiased information on the Iranian American community and its needs and issues. One of the core activities of the Public Policy Center is the Annual Surveys of Iranian Americans, which collects accurate demographic and attitudinal information about the Iranian American community. The surveys are an integral component of better understanding the Iranian American community and have been presented to the U.S. Congress, U.S. Department of State, and other U.S. government agencies.
The Public Policy Center also aims to educate the Iranian American community about the laws, regulations, and policies that affect their lives through select reports and analysis on various issues of interests. In addition, the center also provides a mechanism for Iranian Americans to actively participate in the American civic process and advance the interests of the Iranian American community on issues that impact them.
