Make sure not to miss this amazing lecture with Dr. Massumeh Farhad of the Smithsonian Institution’s Freer Gallery of Art/Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. The lecture series accompanying “A Thousand Years of the Persian Book” exhibit is cosponsored by the Roshan Institute for Persian Studies at the University of Maryland with the generous support of the Roshan Cultural Heritage Institute based in Hawaii.

The first-ever exhibition of its kind, “A Thousand Years of the Persian Book,” provides a glimpse into the Library’s unique Persian collections and the important role that the Persian language has played in world history. The exhibition is made possible through the generous support of the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA), Ambassador Hushang Ansary, Jawad Kamel, Nazie Eftekhari, and other generous donors.
