By building on the remarkable individual achievements of Iranian Americans in all aspects of American society, PAAIA is undertaking to forge an effective, nationally recognized community voice in the public arena. By doing so, the Iranian American community will have a strong voice to represent its point of view in the political process, to address its concerns and protect its interests. By building a credible, highly respected, positive and influential voice, we seek to further empower the Iranian American community in the American political area.
PAAIA is building a public affairs organization that will serve to:
- develop, maintain and strengthen relations with policymakers in both the legislative and executive branches of government.
- advocate and advance policies and legislation at the local, state and national levels in furtherance of the interests of the Iranian American community and the community at large;
- educate the Iranian American community about legislative and policy developments of concern and interest, and support voter registration drives to encourage broad-based community participation in the American political process; and
- promote and support both Iranian American and non-Iranian American candidates for public office as well as influential officeholders who are attuned to matters of interest to the Iranian American community.
