PAAIA and IAPAC Merge
Merger will advance the best interests of the Iranian American community by greatly enhancing its effective participation in the American political process
July 8, 2008 -The Iranian American Political Action Committee (IAPAC) and the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) jointly announce an agreement to merge the two organizations, making IAPAC the affiliated political action committee of PAAIA. The merger of IAPAC and PAAIA represents an unprecedented milestone for the Iranian American community, demonstrating that two existing organizations can and should come together for the greater good.

Florida Imposes Restrictions on Businesses Booking Travel to Iran
Washington, D.C. July 8, 2008 – On June 23, 2008, Florida’s governor signed into law SB 1310, which imposes severe restrictions on travel agents and others selling trips to any nation that appears on the Department of State's list of state sponsors of international terrorism, including Iran.

Eleventh Zarathushti Games held in San Diego
On July 2, 2008 roughly 600 athletes gathered on the campus of the University of San Diego to take part in the 11th Zarathushti Games. What makes this gathering unique is that it brings together a large number of Zoroastrians – members of one of the oldest and first monotheistic religions in the world – from across the globe every two years to take part in what has become a valued tradition amongst the Zoroastrian community.
