PAAIA and IAPAC Host Fundraisers for Darius Shahinfar in Washington DC and New York
With the 2008 elections fast approaching, Iranian Americans are once again demonstrating their growing influence in the American electoral arena by rallying behind the candidacy of Darius Shahinfar. Shahinfar is a first generation American of Iranian descent who is running as a Democrat for New York's 21st Congressional District seat being vacated by Representative Mike McNulty (D-NY).
Last week PAAIA and the Iranian American Political Action Committee (IAPAC) joined forces to organize two fundraising events in support of Shahinfar's bid to become the first American of Iranian descent to serve in the US Congress.

Board of Directors of PAAIA Fund Elected for Two Year Term
On June 12, 2008, PAAIA’s Board of Directors unanimously voted to elect Jamsheed Ameri, Hamid Biglari, Ali Ebrahimi, Mohammad Kashani-Sabet, Firouz Naderi and Vali Nasr as members of the Board of Directors of PAAIA Fund for a two year term. On June 21, the newly elected Board of PAAIA Fund unanimously voted to elect Dr. Mohammad Kashani-Sabet as the Chairman of the Board. Internship Opportunities with Darius Shahinfar for Congress
Albany, New York - The Darius Shahinfar for Congress campaign is looking for few dedicated and motivated Iranian American summer volunteers.
The campaign is accepting applicants for its summer internship program. Shahinfar is running for Congress as a Democrat in Upstate New York’s 21st Congressional District.
